The Captain of French Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) COMMANDANT BOUAN, Lieutenant Commander Damian Tocquer, accompanied by French Defence Attaché to Ghana, Colonel Grégoire Madelin and Sub Lieutenant Geroud Ducellier, paid a courtesy call on the Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Naval Command (ENC), Commodore Solomon Asiedu-Larbi, at the Tema Naval Base on Monday, 3 March 2026.
The OPV arrived at Tema Port for a four-day official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral naval cooperation between France and Ghana. This engagement highlights the continued commitment to bolstering maritime security collaboration and operational coordination.
Colonel Madelin reaffirmed France’s strong commitment to deepening defence and naval collaboration with the Ghana Navy, emphasising sustained partnership and mutual strategic interests.
The courtesy call was followed by a cocktail reception, attended by the Deputy Minister for Defence, Honourable Ernest Brogya Genfi, the Chief of the Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Godwin Livinus Bessing and other distinguished dignitaries from both countries.
