Ghana Navy and University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to bolster strategic collaboration in research, capacity building, executive education, and digital innovation. The signing ceremony took place on Tuesday 1 September 2026, at Faidoo Hall, Naval Headquarters, Burma Camp.
The agreement establishes an operational framework for joint initiatives in policy development, consultancy, and advanced training, designed to enhance the Ghana Navy's operational mandate while supporting broader national development objectives.
Delivering his remarks, the Chief Staff Officer at the Naval Headquarters, Commodore Ben Baba Abdul, who received the delegation on behalf of the Chief of the Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Godwin Livinus Bessing, underscored the essence of building strategic partnerships in maritime capacity. He stated that the collaboration would transcend the basic provisions of the MoU, creating dynamic pathways for both institutions to identify shared interests, address complex challenges, and innovate together.
In his response, the Vice Chancellor of UPSA, Professor Emmanuel Selase Asamoah, highlighted the agreement as a key milestone in the university's external stakeholder strategy. He reaffirmed UPSA’s commitment to deploying the necessary institutional resources to guarantee the full realisation and operational success of the partnership.
