Naval Headquarters conducted its first Combat Fitness Test (CFT) for Officers, Senior Rates and Ratings on Thursday 20 August 2026, at Burma Camp. The exercise formed part of the Naval Headquarters’ routine physical training programme aimed at assessing and improving the physical fitness, endurance, resilience and combat readiness of personnel.
The 12-kilometre walk, led by the Director Naval Training at the Naval Headquarters, Naval Captain Festus Osei-Brobbery, began at the Naval Headquarters, through to the La general area and ended at the Nicholson Sports Stadium, Burma Camp.
During the CFT, personnel moved in military formation, upheld the required discipline and maintained the prescribed pace, while displaying resilience and strong teamwork throughout the exercise.
In his remarks, Naval Captain Osei-Brobbery commended personnel for their determination and resilience, emphasising that physical fitness is vital to military professionalism and operational effectiveness. He added that regular physical training promotes healthy living and fosters esprit de corps among personnel. He therefore encouraged personnel to make regular physical training and healthy living part of their routine.
CFT forms part of the Naval Headquarters’ continuous efforts in maintaining a physically fit and ready force capable of meeting the demands of its mission.
